Quietest Halloween

Does a green spinach bread count as Halloween food? If it does, it was not intentional :) Sonya and Clara were rather sad that they can't dress up and go trick or treating this year. We did buy a little pumpkin with a cute kitty face already painted on.

Clara really wanted to dress up and get photos taken. Sonya, coincidentally, had an orange top on :) That's all for us this year.

We are hoping that the weather will be nice next Halloween so that we can go Trick or Treating around Woodgrove (houses next to American School) then!

DIY Pizza

Justin is off to attend a colleague's wedding dinner so I thought it would be more fun for Sonya and Clara to make their own pizza than takeaway.

It was just pita bread, tomato paste, dried basil, pepper, mushrooms, olives, ham, mozzarella and olive oil :)

And some creativity.

Children's Day

It is the first time that my children are celebrating Children's Day and it has been many many years since I last celebrated it :)

Both Sonya and Clara had special activities planned for them in school. Sonya got to wear regular clothes to school instead of the school uniform. They got to enjoy a concert and there were game and food stalls set up for them during the extended recess time.

Clara got to dress up as a cartoon character, and she chose to be a princess of course, for school. I baked some cupcakes for her to share with her friends.

They sang songs, danced and had snacks. The teachers even put on a show just for them :)

I hope to bring them out for some fun, provided that Lydia will cooperate!

Ice Skating at Kallang

Sonya asked if we could go ice skating yesterday and after making sure that Sonya and Clara could still fit into their jeans and the ice skates that we brought back from US, we went!

Actually, we had no idea if it was a suitable place for kids but it turned out to be pretty nice. Justin was on the ice with Sonya and Clara while I stayed with Lydia who mostly slept through the 2 hours we were there.

Sonya picked up from where she left off the last time she skate.

Clara was zooming around with the skating support.

She needed a rest once in a while (actually it was more for fun).

Clara's jeans was a little too loose for her and it kept slipping off. It was hilarious! Sorry, Clara. We will remember the belt next time and we need to bring along the helmets for them too.

Clara even felt adventurous enough to skate without the support :)

We are thinking of getting some skating lessons for them for the December holidays :)

Here is the birthday guy lighting his own candles. I baked him a devil's food cake with peppermint chocolate granache topped with ferrero rocher :)

The two sweetest girls singing happy birthday to him :)

Maybe Lydia will be singing along too for his 40th ;p
