Butterflies and Dragonflies

This is the start of the second week of preschool for Sonya. I think she has already gotten used to waking up at 7am every morning. I read from a website that we should discourage her from sleeping later over the weekend else she would be in a perpetual jetlag.

When we got to preschool this morning, the teachers have set up some new activities for the children to try. There were little tubs of paint and glitter with a spoon in each tub. Each child was given a piece of paper which is folded in half. The children opens up the paper and drips paint on the paper. When they are done, the paper is folded back in half again and pressed. The end result is an abstract image that is symmetrical. Pretty cool. The patterns formed resembled butterflies, dragonflies, etc. Great looking art works with little effort. Of course you need to control the amount of paint that the children drips on the paper, else it would just be a pool of colours overflowing onto the table :)

I thought I make something nice for Sonya's lunch. She loved it :)
