New England Aquarium

Justin had never been to the New England Aquarium before (Sonya and I went with my parents when my parents were in Boston last year) so I got the passes from the Boston Library and we went last Saturday. The highlight for Sonya was the penguins of course :)

It was Clara's first time at the Aquarium too. She was not born yet when we last visited. She was absolutely thrilled with the penguins.

Besides the penguins, there were numerous tanks with different underwater creatures like fishes, corals, turtles, seahorses, etc.

Does it look like the fish was chasing Clara in the photo below?

There were many of these little bronze statues of penguins and turtles on the rest benches.

Sonya learnt about measuring height and length in preschool so she went to measure herself against the shark :)

Actually, besides the penguins, the other highlight of the aquarium was its giant tank with lots of sharks and turtles and other large fishes.

The fish in the top left hand corner turned out rather ghostly in the photo below :)

There was also the huge skeleton of a whale hanging from the ceiling.

There was a whole section dedicated to jellyfish at the aquarium. The impression I have of jellyfish is that they stink but with lighting effects, the jellyfish looked so cute and beautiful!

I was so fascinated by the way the cuttlefish swam.

Sonya was reluctant to go home. We told her she could chose one last thing to see or do in the aquarium and then we had to go. She chose to take a photo with the little bronze penguin :)
