A huge snow storm was supposed to hit Boston today and school was canceled for everyone. Sonya and Clara stayed at home, initially watching tv but I switched it off soon after as they could not watch in peace. Clara was just grouchy like the big storm approaching and when nap time finally came, I was really glad. Sonya was really happy when I asked her if she would like to do some painting with me. I had bought her one of those paint-by-numbers painting kit a few weeks ago so she painted that while I worked on the double portrait of Sonya and Clara that I started more than 2 years ago and has yet to finish. She was even happier when I let her used a table easel just like me :)

It was nice to be able to spend some quiet quality time with Sonya and I look forward to more of it next week when she is on vacation while Clara still has preschool.
The decoration on the window is for the upcoming Chinese New Year which we did when we were stuck at home all sick from stomach flu over the weekend. Not bad, right?
As for the snow, it is now close to 8pm and the heavy snow has only just started to really move into the area. So actually, all the kids could have gone to school and came back without any snow on the roads!
