Public Gardens

After one failed attempt to go to the Boston Public Gardens last friday afternoon due to the lack of street parking, we attempted to try again on Sunday morning since Sonya did not have ballet that day. We parked in Boston Common's underground garage for $11.

Many of the trees are filled with flowers. Too bad the flowers only last for a few days before the leaves take over. My favorite are the trees covered with white or pink flowers.

Sonya attempted to carry my backpack. I was surprised that she actually managed to carry it because it was really heavy.

The wind blew and the flowers rained down onto the ground. Sonya had fun catching them as they fell. I asked her to blow at the petals on the ground.

Clara wanted to give the tree a big hug.

Sonya suggested that they take a photo with the statue.

"Caterpillas" on the tree :)

I think maybe the weather was just too warm because Sonya was rather grouchy that morning.

We found out that there was a parade happening to celebrate the Greek Independence.

We saw Boston Mayor Tom Menino and Fox25's Maria Stephanos.

Sonya really likes parades :)

The weather was just too hot to watch the whole parade so we left. Clara was also getting tired and ready for her afternoon nap. We took a short walk around the Public Gardens before heading home.

We found a lone red tulip (I think) among a whole bed of white ones.

It was a beautiful sunday if only it was not so hot!

  1. Lovely photos. Linee! Sunday was a scorcher, wasn't it?! But what a great time to see all those flowers and trees in bloom.
