It was field trip time again at Haggerty Preschool yesterday and they went to Codman Farm in Lincoln, MA. There were lots of different farm animals for the children to see although the smell did bother some of them, especially Sonya.

The children took the Senior bus from preschool while I drove with Clara to the farm. They lined up outside the store before starting the tour of the farm.

I gave Clara a mini-muffin to eat and here she was offering some to Sonya.

After the muffin was gone, she eyed a little boy's snack cup.

A kid's tractor lying around in the store building.

The first animal they saw was the bunny.

Then into the barn they went to see the sheep and it was here that Sonya got her first smell of farm life.

There were goats too.

Clara was pretty fascinated but also a little afraid when the animals got too close to her.

There were the ducks and geese, of course.

Then, more goats.

Although I don't like birds, I think I might have a new found interest in photographing them, from afar of course.

Then there were the baby moo-moo cows.

Clara greeting the fast running chickens.

Guess what everyone was crowding around to see?

Two "big giant" mummy pigs and their many little piglets.

One mummy pig is just lounging in the shelter while the other is getting a tan. I think it was breakfast time because the piglets were very busy running from one mummy pig to the other looking for milk.

Next came Sonya's favorite part of the trip, or so she claimed. Baby chicks kept warm with artificial lighting.

Next to the chicks was a big cow lying among the hay. Sonya said it had a cast on one of its legs but I didn't notice.

I think these were heirloom turkeys. They looked scary to me but great for photos :)

While crossing the field to see some cows, three funny looking birds walked past. I am not sure what they were. Turkeys?

The cows were pretty happy since the children kept feeding and feeding them.

After feeding the cows, it was time to feed the children with some crackers and water.

Clara was very happy because she used a paper cup to drink water like the other children instead of her sippy cups.

I asked Sonya and Clara to stand in front of the cows so that I could take a photo of them together. Clara kept running around until she decided to "big hug" Sonya. It is her new found hobby to shower Sonya with powerful hugs.

The big hug went well for a while until Clara stepped on Sonya's toes.

It was time to get in line to get up the bus and return to preschool after that.

Another fun and exciting trip with the Haggerty Preschool.
