Strawberry Picking

Strawberries are in season again and since Clara has stopped taking naps, we have more time in the afternoon to go places. Yesterday, I brought them to Smolak Farms in North Andover.

Like many other farms, there was an area with different animals which children loves!

These guinea hens were roaming freely everywhere and the noises they made were so funny :)

Time to pick the strawberries. A lot of farms this year are charging $3 per person before you start picking but the fee can be offset when paying for the strawberries eventually. This means we paid $9 and strawberries cost $3 per pound so if we get at least 3 pounds of strawberries, we don't actually pay any fee.

There was also a small playground to entertain the kids. We got there at 4pm and they closed at 5pm and that is why it seemed so empty :)

We love strawberries and the strawberries from the local farms taste much better than the store bought ones so I think we may just go pick some more in another farm soon...
