It was Strawberry Festival weekend and so we went to Russell Orchards in Ispwich on Saturday to pick our own strawberries and enjoy other activities that the farm organized. Unfortunately, it was so late by the time we got there, we only got to pick the strawberries :(

Taking the hayride to the strawberry fields...

There she went with so much enthusiasm.

Don't be fooled. I picked like 90% of the strawberries. I think there were so many pickers earlier that day and it was hard to find big good ones so these two little girls got bored pretty quickly hunting for the strawberries.

The driver of the hayride offered to take our photo. It was so hot that we had to try some strawberry cider at the store :)

On Sunday, we went to Wilson Farms in Lexington after lunch. I had thought that the festival would last till 4pm but the petting zoo closed at 3pm and we got there at 3pm. We did get to see the lady load the animals into her minivan.

Thankfully, there were still other activities to do. There was a hay maze....

Sonya and Clara decorated little pots and planted marigolds into their pots. Sonya was so eager to get home to water her pot.

There was also the strawberry in spoon race and the strawberry shortcake eating contest. I asked Sonya and Clara if they wanted to take part but they both declined.

And he is the winner of the strawberry shortcake eating contest. It was about speed and not quantity.

We did get to try some strawberry shortcake near the store and also tried strawberry soup and strawberry ravioli. Doesn't sound yummy but they were! Enough strawberries for now :)
