I know I know... you're thinking that there are already 2 blog posts on Sonya's birthday this year already, here's another one? Yep, it seems never-ending. I am beginning to feel the same way too :)

Anyway, it was official opening of the Boston Common Frog Pond ice-skating season with a special skating exhibition yesterday evening. Sonya had watched ice-skating on TV and tried to do her own skating with her slippery cosy slippers in our kitchen. I thought it would be interesting to let her see some professional skaters in action.

Besides the skating exhibition, there was also raffles and freebies. We got two masks. Clara really enjoyed wearing the mask but Sonya, as expected, was not into it.

We also saw the toy soldier from Boston Ballet's Nutcracker.

A trip to the frog pond would not be complete without a photo with the frogs :)

After that, we had dinner at Bugaboo Creek restaurant or what Sonya and Clara refer to as "Talking Cow" as the restaurant is full of hunting souvenir and the highlight was Bill the Buffalo that "talks" every now and then. We told the server that it was Sonya's birthday.
Sorry that the video is so blur! I didn't have enough time to get it into focus :(

At the end of the meal, the servers and a moose puppet came over and sang a birthday song for Sonya and she got a nice complementary chocolate cake too. It made her really happy :)

The teachers and children at Sonya's kindergarten have a birthday celebration every month for all the children has a birthday that month. Today, they celebrated Sonya and Jame's birthdays.

I made cupcakes and bought some snacks while Jame's mum brought juice for everyone.

There are about 20 children in the class. Sonya and Clara sat at this table to enjoy the cupcakes with Bjarney, Bruno and two other children.

They ended the day with some sing-a-longs. Clara sat on the mat and joined in the singing :)
I learnt new lyrics to the Row Your Boat:
Rip rip rip your pants
Gently down the stream
Merrily merrily merrily merrily
Hear the lady scream!
Gently down the stream
Merrily merrily merrily merrily
Hear the lady scream!

The End.
