While Sonya was in Haggerty Preschool, we have been going apple picking with the school every October. I have not heard about any apple picking trip with her kindergarten so I suggested we go on our own last Saturday after the baking competition (where my kuih lapis won 2 prize!)

We went back to the Honeypot Hill Orchards in Stow, MA. They close at 5pm and with the terrible traffic in Cambridge due to the Head of the Charles going on over the weekend, I didn't think we would be able to make it. We got at 4.55pm and still got to pick the apples :)

After picking the apples, we went to the store to get a pumpkin. I want to try pumpkin carving this year as it might be our last time celebrating Halloween in Boston.

While I picked a pumpkin, Justin brought Sonya and Clara to see the animals that they have on the farm.

You get to buy some feed for the goats for a quarter, put the feed into the cup secured onto a conveyor belt and get it to the goats high on the platform. The goat in the photo above was a smart one. He kept yanking on the conveyor belt to get to the cup even while Justin was putting the feed in.

Sonya had a go at feeding the goats while Clara watched.

Justin did ask Clara if she wanted to try feeding the goats but she said no (which is her usual default answer before she really think about the question). But when all the quarters were used up, she cried :)

A lady must have thought Clara looked so sad that she gave Clara a quarter. Hahaha...

We ate an apple in the field, an apple on our way to the store and we still had a big bag of apples and a big pumpkin to bring home :)
