I am sure I have mentioned the Boston Children's Museum as one of my favorite places to bring Sonya and Clara. And so, when we were in St Louis, I just had to bring them to the Magic House - St Louis Children's Museum and it was even better than the one in Boston!

The name "Magic House" is more than appropriate for the place. The building really is an enormous house with so many things to play and explore.

The first area that we went to was all about fairytales.

There were a castle...

Cinderella's slipper and the royal carriage...

Jack and the Beanstalk...

Fireplaces...

The Elves and the Shoemaker...

The wolves in all the different fairytales...

In the atrium area, there were extraordinary musical instruments.

Down to the lower level, Sonya and Clara had great fun putting felt balls into this great big suction system and see the balls shoot out from the other end.

Clara found pieces of cloths and started playing peekaboo on her own :)

There was also an area all about the US Legislative System.

They even got to pretend to be the President in the Oval Office :)

Then there was Judge Sonya...

And, Clara running away from Jury duty...

There was a Kids' Construction Zone where Sonya and Clara got to sweep the floor (mummy doesn't allow them to sweep the floor at home).

They got to shovel some gravel...

Climb into a real Caterpillar digging machine...

Haul bricks made of foam up and down using pulleys...

Connect the water pipes...

Install the insulation system for the building...

And of course, clean up the mess they made :)

There were huge chalkboards...

Colorful blocks to build and knock down...

Learn their ABCs...

Create some music with their bums...

Had a tea party in the attic...

Discover the power of magnets...

Clara got her hair done with the Electrostatic Generator :)

Played with balls...

Discover the power of wind...

And sound...

Test their reaction time...

Discover how we see and perceive things around us...

Test their arm power...

Who can forget bubbles!

Had fun with the pin screen...

Discovered more about pulleys...

There an area reserved for smaller kids and there was sand...

Bells to hit and make some music...

Towers to build...

Elastic bands to stretch...

Shapes to sort...

Locks to open...

Patterns to create...

Slides to zoom down...

Giant lego blocks to build...

And Clara's favorite - water to play! She screamed and cried when I told her it was time to move on to the next section.

More chalkboards to draw...

Different light switches to turn on and off...

More sand to scoop and pour...

Structures to climb and balance...

Vehicles to pump petrol and drive...

And then it was time to walk down the Math Path...

There were puzzles to solve...

Down the Math path and there was the Children's Village where everything has been shrunk down to kids' size.

There was a house with a kitchen and dining area...

Piano to play...

There was a pond to do some fishing...

Clara was doing more poking than fishing...

There was a treehouse to climb...

Cars to repair...

Delivery truck to drive...

A huge supermarket to run or shop in...

There was also a bank to write and cash cheques...

Buttons to press...

Letters to post...

Powerplants to run...

Electric circuits to connect and lightbulbs to light...

Restaurant to run...

Library to run or borrow books...

There was also an area about the Adventures of Lewis and Clark.

Why use the stairs when you can go on the Jack and the Beanstalk climber?

Why walk down corridors when you can crawl through the wall?

It really was a Magic House!
That place looks like SO much fun!!! Magical. :)
