Just one last blog post on our St Louis trip on just miscellaneous things.

We stayed at the Hyatt Hotel where the conference was held. It was nice but not kid friendly as in the tables had glass table tops and sharp edges. I had to use the many cushions and wedged them between the beds and the table so that Sonya and Clara would not bang their heads against those nasty corners. And knowing Clara, she jumped and ran all over the room. The beds were also very high and I pushed the sofa in between the beds to help Sonya and Clara get up the beds more easily and also to cushion their fall should they tumble down while they were sleeping at night. With all my precautions, we left the room with no boo-boos :)

This is the view of the Gateway Arch from our room in the day and at night.

And these night shots of the Gateway Arch and the Old Courthouse were taken just before the storm came on our first night in St Louis.

Clara really explored the room and she found her hiding spot in the cupboard :)

We allowed Sonya and Clara to bring one of their comfort toys with them. Sonya got her monkey and dolphin who sleep with her every night. Clara got her baby. Clara would put the spoon into the doll's mouth and declare that "she can do it all by herself!" meaning that she doesn't need to hold the spoon for the doll and off she goes to play something else. Wondering how she would be when she becomes a real mother someday. Hmm...

I got these night shots of the Old Courthouse on friday night as more rain was in the forecast for following nights.

We also went to three famous restaurants in St Louis. Out of the three, we stumbled upon two by chance and didn't even know their history before we went there.

The first one was the Morgan Street Brewery as seen in the photo above. I think you can guess why we chose this out of the many restaurants in the Laclede's Landing area :)

The next one was the Blueberry Hill Restaurant (above) along this stretch of Delmar Boulevard also known as The Loop.

The last one was the Fitz's Soda Bar and Grill where we got to watch a vintage root beer bottling line in operation while we enjoyed our meal. They are famous for their root beer. Justin ordered the root beer while I got a root beer float. I let Sonya and Clara tried the root beer float.

As Justin and I were having some beer during dinner at home a few nights ago, she asked if we remembered she had beer when we went on vacation (in St Louis). She had the root beer float and since it had the word "beer" in it, she thought root beer and beer were the same. I asked her if she had been telling everyone in preschool that she had root beer. I didn't want the authorities to be coming after me! We, of course, explained the difference to her in the end :)
