Justin promised Sonya that we would bring her to the zoo so I got a pass from the library and we finally went yesterday after her ballet class. We have been to the Franklin Park Zoo twice already and so we thought we try the Stone Zoo which proved to be a good choice since it is much more compact than the Franklin Park Zoo but with just as many animals to see. The only thing is that Justin thought the animals at the Stone Zoo are more pitiful since they have so little room to roam. All they could really do was to pace along the edges of their cages :(

Owls...

Reindeer...

Sonya tried to explain something regarding the reindeer to Clara. Clara just ignored her.

There were many animals but the best part for Clara I think was the black bears. She couldn't stop shouting "bear bear"!

Because the bears kept pacing towards and away from the glass panels, it can disappear from sight for a moment and then reappear again. Sonya and Clara both had a fright each when they were looking at something else away from the glass, then turned back towards the glass and found the bear standing right in front of them :)

Coyotes...

Cougars...

They went behind the curtains to see bats...

Jaguars...

Flamingos...

Hornbill...

Yak...

Markhor...

Crane...

Wolves...

There were also barnyard animals but by the time we got there, it was closing time for the zoo and we had to leave :(

There was a small playground and of course, Sonya had to play there for 5 minutes.

That was the end of our trip to Stone Zoo....
