The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus is in Boston again for their annual show. We went 2 years ago when Sonya was 2 years old and before Clara was born. We didn't go last year because we thought Clara was too young to enjoy it. Sonya was very excited. She woke up in the morning and said she didn't want to go to preschool because she thought the show was in the morning! She doesn't give up preschool for much things :)

The main show started at 7 pm but there was a preshow as usual where the audience could get close to some of the performers.

The favorite was of course the elephant. Clara was very happy and waved to it :)

Our seats were all the way up :(

It was 7pm and the show started with the National Anthem.

There were horses, tigers, dogs, goats, etc. I think Clara was only interested in the parts where the animals came out.

She had trouble sitting still of course - constantly trying to wiggle herself off our laps. She kept kicking her feet too and poor Sonya got a few kicks from her :(

The show only ended at 9.30pm which was way past Sonya and Clara's bedtime these days so Clara was very cranky even though she had an extra nap in the afternoon.

Sonya absolutely enjoyed it. She asked if she could go again :)
Perhaps you are not aware of the inherent cruelty of using animals in circuses. Please take a few minutes to visit www.RinglingAbusesAnimals.com. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteYes I did feel very sad for the animals while watching them but I didn't know about the "abuses" from the website you pointed out.
