We went on a road trip from Denver, Colorado to Las Vegas, Nevada in the rented Chrysler Town and Country in 13 days. Here are some statistics from our trip:
- took more than 1689 photos...
- took more than 22 video footages...
- traveled more than 6294kilometers... (less than 100 kilometers from reaching the center of the Earth from the surface)
- burnt 163 gallons of petrol... (highest price paid was $4.39 per gallon in Springdale, Utah!)
- visited 8 national parks, 2 national monuments, 1 national recreation area, 2 state parks, 1 memorial...
- endured longest period without cellphone coverage since 1998 (Justin) / 1994 (Linee)...
- stayed in 13 different places... (cabin, motel rooms, hotel rooms, suites, etc)
- traveled through 8 states... (Colorado, South Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, Utah, Arizona & Nevada)
- drove to a maximum speed of 149 km/h...
- drank more than 10 gallons of water...
- drank 24 bottles of Starbucks coffee...
- endured countless runs of Barney and Dora the Explorer... (Who's complaining? It was better than crying and whining!)
- ate 72 Oreo cookies, ate 4 bags of chips, 3 bananas, 2 apples... (We ate a lot more things, of course. These are just some of the things we could count!)
- broke 1 slipper... (Sonya accidentally stepped on Justin's slippers while walking and the strap broke. I mended it with hair bands so that he could still wear it when necessary before it went into the trash on our last day of the trip.)
- broke 1 eyeglasses... (It didn't actually broke during the trip but I think the extreme weather changes had something to do with it.)
- killed hundreds of bugs... (A dead half inch wasp was wedged in the side window crevice. The others died horribly when they smashed onto the windscreen and bumper. We need a trophy for having the most dead bugs on our car!)
- finished half a bottle of Tums... (Justin's stomach was still running on Boston time so he had gastric pain almost everyday)
- finished half a bottle of Tylenol Infant's Drop... (Clara had fever. We suspected stomach flu. Sonya also had fever and a sore throat.)
- made 1 call to MIT Medical... (Clara's stomach flu)
- used 5 Princess Band-Aid and 3 regular ones... (Sonya's boo-boos)
- drank 4 bottles of Brands Essence of Chicken...
- saved hundreds getting tan naturally...
- experienced temperature changes from 40 degrees F (12000 feet above sea level at Rocky Mountain) to 112 degrees F (Hoover Dam)...
- saw at least 17 different types of WILD animals... (Bisons, wolf, elks, pronghorns, deers, bighorn sheep, wild rabbits, antelopes, black bear, grizzly bear, mountain goats, condors, bald eagle, chipmunks, lizards, prairie dogs, turkey, etc)
