First Day of Spring

Photobucket

Spring is officially here and the first day of spring was spectacular! We started the day off with ice skating. Yes, you saw it right. Clara ice skating all by herself using the milk crates as support :) It was much better than the last time when she simply refused to even attempt to stand.

With temperature reaching a high of 70F, we just had to go for a picnic.

I thought we could do some kite flying too over lunch.

The wind came and went but Sonya did a great job keeping her kite in the sky :)

It was nap time after lunch but not before something hilarious at the park. Clara was happily eating her lunch on the blanket when a labrador suddenly ran over to her and started eating the hotdogs next to her. I think it really scared her and she cried but I couldn't help laughing. Sorry, Clara. Actually, I was a little upset too that the owner didn't even apologize. She just said no to the dog :( Then, as we were walking to the bathroom, Clara again was eating a fresh piece of bread and was holding it in her hand when another labrador came up to her and licked it. This owner apologized and Clara was in tears again.

I drove around while Sonya and Clara slept. We went to Fort Independence where they could build some sand castle for a while.

Sonya's first attempt failed.

Success!

After that, we stopped by the playground to shake off all the sand before heading home to pick Justin up for dinner.

What shall we do this coming weekend? Flowers are already starting to bloom everywhere. Boston Common maybe? Or should we do ice skating since it is the last weekend that the rink will be open. Again, too many choices, too little time...
