Disneyland Part 3

We bought the 3-day park hopper ticket for the Disneyland Park and the California Adventure Park. I think it was just the right duration for us. We didn't cover everything but we did try all the ones that we thought were interesting.

This is Sonya with the stickers that one of the staff at the hotel gave. As usual, she immediately peeled off one of the stickers and stuck it to her shirt. She also stuck one on me and one on Justin, which he didn't realised till I pointed it out to him :)

This is Main Street USA in the Disneyland Park.

This is a statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse with the castle to Fantasyland in the background. It is getting harder and harder to get Sonya to take pictures. You need to get her interested in the subject first before she would take the picture.

This is one with the little Donald Duck statue. There were ones of Mickey, Chip & Dale, etc but she chose the Donald Duck.

This is the entrance to Fantasyland. We thought we would start it off here to get her excited with the princesses so that we would not have any trouble getting her out of bed and dressed in the morning.

They had photographers all over the park to take photos for you using their cameras. The photos they took are then transferred to a photo pass with a unique ID. With the ID, you can go online to view all the photos they took for you throughout your stay at Disneyland Park and at California Adventure Park. Some of them are quite nice and would help you take photos with your own camera. It was only later that we realised that each 5 x 7 in photo cost $12.95 from their website! Luckily I took plenty of photos using our own camera instead of relying on them!

This is the Snow White's Scary Adventures. We didn't quite like it since it was just sitting in one of those moving "sofa" and going through different sections of the house. Also, it was pretty dark and too loud.

This is King Arthur Carousel which is one of Sonya's favorites.

The other ride that she enjoyed very much was the Mad Tea Party with the spinning tea cups. I think Clara enjoyed it too since she was smiling :) Not sure if she felt dizzy. I did :)

This is Storybook Land Canal Boats where you take a boat ride with a narrator sailing through a miniature world.

This is the car outside Mr Toad's Wild Ride which is rather similar to Snow White's Scary Adventure but as I recall, even louder and with flashing lights all over the place!

This is Dumbo the Flying Elephant.

Time for toilet break and also have some water. This is Sonya at the drinking fountain. I thought the water tasted funny. It was the only time I drank from the fountains. We drank the water we brought.

We wanted to buy Sonya a pair of mouse ears. Justin thought the ones with the hair band was more worth the money but Sonya wanted these pink princess ones. They costs $13 each! I think everything is expensive in Disneyland. As the days go by, we sort of labelled everything that was expensive as Disney price :)

At least embroidering her name on the cap was free!

Food was definitely not cheap in the parks. We wanted to go for a character breakfast with Ariel - The Little Mermaid but it was too expensive. $15 for child and $26 for adult! Have you ever spent that much for breakfast?

Poor Clara was too young for most things. She stayed in her stroller nice and cosy most of the time.

On rides that Clara was too young to get on, Justin and I took turns to bring Sonya. Actually, Clara only went on a couple of the rides. This is the Matterhorn Bobsleds. It was something like a mild roller coaster. I think Sonya got pretty scared after this and became rather skeptical whenever she saw a ride that involved a little speed and height. In fact, she would not even get on the ferris wheel at the California Adventure Park.

Sonya is full of energy in the morning till about late afternoon when she was tired and started to become cranky. She refused to walk back to the hotel on the first day and Justin had to carry her almost all the way back.

This is us queueing at the Disney Princess Fantasy Faire where you get to meet and take photos with 3 princesses. It was a long long queue - more than an hour actually.

This is the Disney Railroad. The train has only 4 stops around the perimeter of the park.

This is part of the "It's a small world" which unfortunately was closed.

This is the entrance to the Mickey's Toontown.

Here is Sonya showing off her arm power by trying to lift some heavy canonballs.

Then they tried to blow up the house with some TNT.

And later got locked up in the dog pound.

Sonya tried the Toontown Trolley.

And these funny looking telephones.

We went inside Minnie's House and this is Sonya sitting on Minnie's sofa.

She tried Pluto's bed too.

And, Mickey's piano.

She tried Mickey's car.

This is Chip and Dale's treehouse where she enjoyed climbing up and down the stairs.

Whenever Justin and Sonya are busy with some rides, I would try to take some photos of Clara :)

This is Justin and Sonya in Donald's Boat.

This is the Golden Zephyr in the California Adventure Park. Sonya needed to "hold my hand" and then she was fine with the ride. She went on it once with Justin and once with me.

Mummy and daddy needed to have some excitement too. This is Justin on the Maliboomer.

And this is me :) I thought it was not as thrilling as the one in Genting Highlands, Malaysia.

This is California Screaming. Justin is not on this train but I actually got him on video :)

Sonya riding the big fish on King Triton's Carousel.

This is the entrance to Bug's Land.

Sonya and I went on Heimlich's Chew Chew Train. It was great fun. Besides the usual visual and audio effects, they even incorporated smell! It smell really sweet when the train went past one of the sweet treats.

See the half-eaten watermelon in the background?

This is the Tuck and Roll's Drive 'Em Buggies. It looks like bumper cars but the cars moved rather slowly and no one was interested in bumping anyone.

This is Francis' Ladybug Boogie. It looked like the Mad Tea Party but it was rather bumpy whenever the cars switched from one spinning disc to the other. None of us enjoyed it. Sonya held on to the sides rather tightly throughout the ride.

These looked really cool. It is the Flik's Flyers.

Yep. Trying to take photos of Clara again just to show that we didn't leave her at the hotel :)

Back to the Disneyland Park and this is the Disney Railroad once again.

Let's see if Sonya has lost any weight from all these walking and running around.

This is the Horse Drawn Streetcars that went up and down Main Street USA.

Every evening at about 7pm, there would be a Disney parade that starts from "It's a small world" all the way down to Main Street. Sonya really enjoyed the parade. She clapped and danced to the music and waved to all the Disney characters on the floats.

At the hotel where we stayed, they had a kid's tv room where they played cartoon of Donald Duck day and night.

This is Sonya and I on the Astro Orbitor. It was not as nice as Dumbo the Flying Elephant as we got tossed from left to right as we moved the "rocket" up and down.

Sonya wanted these mickey lollipops so we bought a bunch and we had one each :)

No lolly for Clara but she was still pretty happy :)

This is Mickey with the marching band.

It was 3 magical days, at least for Sonya and I :) hehehehe....
