And the Fun Continues

It was free admission from 10am - 9pm today at the Boston Children's Museum sponsored by the Highland Street Foundation. We arranged to meet Kanon for another afternoon of fun and laughter. The museum was just totally packed! If you have ever been to their $1 Friday Nights before, think double the number of people! It was crazy!

The bubble station was our first stop. Within 10 minutes at the museum, Clara already had a wet tummy. Although I had a change of clothes for her, I just simply used paper towel to dry the front of her shirt as much as possible. She was not bothered by it with all the things to play around her!

There were a few new stations since our last visit to the museum. Gone was the China themed exhibit. Today, we found the new access/ABILITY area where they tried to raise disability awareness.

Kanon and Sonya loved fiddling with the braille typewriter.

Clara occupied herself with pretend food while Kanon and Sonya were still going on the braille typewriter.

Sonya and Kanon tried to maneuvuer their way up a ramp and through a door while on a wheelchair.

Clara tried blindfolding herself, more to play peek-a-boo than to really experience what it is like to be blind.

Clara was pleasantly surprised to be greeted by a staff carrying a puppet goat.

Here are the girls queueing up for the art workshop. We have been to the museum more than 5 times and this was our first time attending the workshop.

The workshop was for children 3 years and older but Clara got to do some drawings with crayons too while Sonya and Kanon experimented with crayons and watercolor :)

The last stop was the new Peep's World. I don't know a child who does not like to play with water!

Kanon had to leave earlier. By then, we had already spent 4 hours at the museum!

Sonya would not leave until she had a go at the hand-powered bikes. That also meant that Clara had to try it too even though her arms are not quite long enough to peddle properly yet :)

I looked out of the windows and saw the dark clouds. I tried to get the girls into their raincoats as fast as I could with the intention of getting to the car before the rain starts but we were just not fast enough. Sonya and Clara had their raincoats but I got very wet and so did my backpack :(

  1. I thought the accessibility exhibit was very cool, too.

Looks like you had a great time. Congrats on navigating the crowds! And sorry the rain got you. It came in SO fast!!
