Halloween 2008

It is Halloween and I think the kids' favorite holiday where they get to dress up and go treat-or-trick :) Although the weather was not terribly cold, princess costumes were just not quite suitable for outdoors in autumn in New England. I made red capes for both Sonya and Clara and tried to convinced Sonya to be Little Red Riding Hood but she would not be anything else but a princess. I got her to put on the red cape whenever she was outdoors though. Clara happily played the role of the Little Red Riding Hood :)

Kids got to halloween decorating...

There was also some snacks for everyone...

Then everyone gathered while the MIT Marching Band played some songs...

The MIT Marching Band then led everyone on a march around the perimeters of the playground before the kids dispersed for trick-or-treat.

At first we tried our luck at the Low Rise apartments but it was just too crowded on the narrow corridors and endless flights of stairs.

We did what we did the previous years and went to the Highrise Apartments instead.

We started at the 16th storey and worked our way down the building, knocking on every door with the pumpkin poster.

Even Clara got the idea after a while and started knocking on the doors too!

We stopped after at the 7th Storey when the goodies pumpkin was too heavy for the kids to carry anymore and Sonya wanted to have some water. It was great fun as always. This is one tradition we are going to miss when we move back to Singapore next year...
