Vegetable Growing II

This is an update on the status of my plants on my balcony. The weather is getting warmer, or very hot the past few days, and my plants are growing much better!

My sunflowers have started to bloom!

My eggplants are growing very very slowly :( Maybe the pots are too small for them...

These are the marigolds. I am still waiting for them to bloom. They are supposed to give off some scent or something that keeps the bugs away from my tomatoes and zucchini :)

My zucchini are growing like crazy! Their leaves are enormous. I read that they are supposed to be bushes but their stems at the bottom are so skinny and their leaves are so huge, I have to help them stand up with twine.

These, I think, are the flower buds on the zucchini plants.

Recently, I noticed that they are growing these little "arms" from the main stem too. The "arms" grow and cling onto nearby structures or another stem. I discovered a lot about plants from this planting project :)

This is one of my 4 tomato plants. At one stage, they seemed they were not going to survive but with the warmer weather, they are growing much better now :) Still no sign of any tomato yet though :(

This is the basil plant that I keep indoors. I just cut whatever leaves I need for cooking and more grow back.
