NYC: Battery Park

Our first stop in Manhattan was the Battery Park where we were quite fortunate to have found free parking. As usual, Sonya is a natural poser and she was quite excited initially to take photos with the "statues" :)











This is a 911 memorial with an eternal flame burning in front of it.


There were quite a number of persons dressed up like the Statue of Liberty for tourist to take photos (with a fee, of course). Sonya, as expected, was terrified and the only way to get her to take a photo with the "statue" was to bribe her with ice-cream and that the "statue" cannot touch her! hahaha...



Ice-cream is the most effective form of bribery with Sonya, besides chocolates :)


We even managed to get her to raise her hand up like the statue!
