My Sonya is 7!

Photobucket

Can't believe Sonya is turning 7! It is the first time we are celebrating her birthday in Singapore. The past birthdays were all celebrated with our dear friends in Westgate and I wanted to make sure that birthdays in Singapore are just as special.

We started the day off with a birthday cake similar to what she wants. I didn't have the chance to bake her cake until after the kids go to bed. She knew I was tired and told me that it was alright if she didn't have a cake. I was almost in tears when I heard her said that and there was no way she was not having a cake!

After breakfast, we surprised her with a trip to Sentosa. Justin dropped us off at the cable car station at Mount Faber before looking for a place to park the car for the day.

Can you tell it is almost Christmas time?

When Christmas music started playing over the broadcasting system, this one broke out into a dance.

Just when we were about to get onto the cable car, Clara said she better go to the bathroom first. Thankfully, she was just afraid she might have an accident on the cable car and didn't really needed the bathroom.

Sonya and Clara were really excited about the ride. I guess Sonya must be quite happy since they have been asking if we could take a ride every time they saw it from down below.

We got an update to all the changes that are happening around the area - new waterfront housing, Resort World Sentosa, etc.

I believe there is a large wave pool coming up in Resort World Sentosa :)

First stop, lunch :)

Then it was off to the Skyline Luge. We actually bought the tickets the week before but it rained so hard and we were glad they let us use the tickets another day.

I went with Sonya and Clara for the Dragon Trail while Justin went with them for the Jungle Trial. Sonya ride alone while Clara paired with us.

These two had tons of fun although Sonya complained that her arms were tired. Clara was a little scared the first time but loved the second.

It was just so hot we had to have some ice-cream at MacDonald's before heading for the Segway Fun Ride. I was a little upset that they didn't allow photography just because they had their own photographer and were trying to sell those photos for $15 a piece! Sonya and Clara really enjoyed themselves once again :)

Next stop was the Butterfly Park and Insect Kingdom. The name of the place sounded like so much fun but it was really bad. The number of live butterflies was just disappointing and the insects available were mainly rhino beetles :(

Our ticket included bird feeding. Clara was one happy girl as expected.

Poor Sonya got a scratch on her finger where the Lory's gripped a little too tight :(

Justin got swamped by the birds and he was lucky he didn't get pooped on :)

Our last stop for the day was the new Maritime Experiential Museum & Aquarium at Resort World Sentosa.

Spotted the M&Ms outside Candylicious. One of "candy" was tickling the kids whenever they got close. Clara was really scared and reminded us not to go anywhere near the store for the rest of the day :)

The museum was really about 郑和 's vovages around the world. We thought the deco was great but not much substance. Maybe it will be better when the aquarium opens next year.

Visitors get these passports that you can stamp along the way around the exhibits. That kept Sonya and Clara happy.

We ended the day with dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. Again, Sonya and Clara enjoyed themselves because they really miss going to a restaurant where they get activity books like in USA.

On our way back, we intercepted Little Red Riding Hood :)

More photos with the beautiful Christmas lights while Justin went to get the car.

Enjoyed some fireworks while waiting for the lift.

Sonya said that it was the best birthday ever... until next year! Happy Birthday, baby Sonya!
