-17 degrees

It is an extremely cold winter this year, especially last week. I cannot remember when was the last time the temperature was above freezing. And, it seems that there has been more big snow storms this year than previous years.

With the freezing temperature and the playground covered in ice and snow, Sonya and Clara have not been to the playground for a long long time. So we were very excited to hear about this indoor play area at the Natick Mall from our friend, Heather. It was not a big play area but enough to make the kids really happy.

It has also been 4 weeks since Sonya had her ballet lessons. Two lessons were canceled due to the snow storms and the other 2 was holiday closings. As you can imagine, she was very happy and excited to be able to go ballet again. Unfortunately, there was another snow storm. I called the school cancellation hotline but there was no cancellation so we went. When the lesson started at 11.15am, there was only Sonya and another girl there. By the end of the lesson, there were 5 children.

Nonetheless, it was a nice lesson. Mrs Loring brought new costumes for the children and they learnt new dance steps.

While going to the dance studio, I saw the beautiful snow lined tree branches outside the windows.

What you see in the photos above are just a small portion of the total amount of snow that fell yesterday. I heard from the news this morning that Boston got between 8 - 12 inches of snow!

There was a couple of inches on our balcony too so I let Sonya played there for a while.

She "cleaned up" the railings. I gave a small shovel and a small cup and also a spray bottle with red-colored water. She had fun :)

  2. No I cannot knit. I tried something 3 years ago and it is still not finished.
